PokerStars Tournaments has added a new Steps tournament to its roster, the EPT Steps Sit & Go satellites. This tournament allows you to join at any of the six steps, but the higher the step the higher the entrance fee. You can even buy in with Frequent Player Points.

The six grueling steps are well worth the prize, an EPT package including a spot at EPT Warsaw or the EPT grand Final in Monte Carlo and their expensive entrance fees. Not to mention staying at a luxury hotel and $1,000 spending money.

The Steps qualifiers structure is complicated but only in order to add mechanisms to ensure players have many chances to win.

Step 1: $7.50, 500 FPP or an EPT Step 1 ticket. 1st and 2nd place win a ticket to Step 2. 3rd place wins another chance to play Step 1. 4th place wins a measly $1.50.

Step 2: $27.00, 1,750 FPP, or an EPT Step 2 ticket. 1st and 2nd place win a ticket to Step 3. 3rd  and 4th place win a second chance at Step 2. 5th place wins another chance to play but starting back at Step 1.

Step 3 starts to get expensive: $82.00, 5,125 FPP, or an EPT Step 3 ticket. 1st and 2nd place each win a ticket to Step 4. 3rd place, 4th place and 5th place all win second chances to play Step 3.

Step 4: $215.00, 13,500 FPP, or an EPT Step 4 ticket. 1st and 2nd place win a ticket to Step 5. 3rd place starts over at Step 4. 4th and 5th place have to play their way back to the top from Step 3. 6th place gets another shot but starting from Step 2.

Step 5: $700 or an EPT Step 5 ticket. 1st and 2nd place win a ticket to Step 6. 3rd and 4th place both win a chance at playing Step 5 again. 5th and 6th place can play their way back up from Step 4.

Step 6 offers two tracks to be a winner and secure your place at the European Poker Tour:

1. To win a seat at the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo and the $19,250 entrance fee, EPT Step 6 (10 player) is the route you must take. Entry costs $2,100 or an EPT Step 6 ticket. 1st place wins the seat at Monte Carlo and the cash and 2nd place is sent packing but with $750 in his pocket.
   
   
2. To win a seat at the EPT Warsaw and the $11,350 entrance fee, you must play EPT Step 6 (9 player).  Entry costs $2,100 or an EPT Step 6 ticket. 1st place wins a seat at Warsaw and the cash. 2nd and 3rd place each win $1,750. 4th and 5th place go home with $1,000. Even 6th and 7th place players win $575.
